Neuroth / eora

Executive coaching and stakeholder navigation for the development of a next-generation hearing aid device

Overview

Neuroth is a major Austrian hearing aid company. Its subsidiary eora was developing a new generation of fashionable hearing aid devices targeting women in their 50s and 60s who wanted something aesthetically appealing for daily life and their careers. The first generation had failed in the market, and the team was preparing to develop generation two with a Turkish supplier while navigating internal team conflicts, cultural friction with the supplier, and competing demands from Neuroth's parent company executives and owners.

Actions

  • Led an initial team workshop addressing cultural differences between the Turkish and German teams and resolving internal conflicts stemming from parent company pressure and the failed G1 launch
  • Continued with a multi-month executive coaching engagement with the CEO and project leads
  • Leveraged Turkish language capabilities to bridge communication with the supplier
  • Participated in vendor negotiations in Germany and evaluated alternative suppliers
  • Attended trade fairs for market research
  • Navigated a complex stakeholder ecosystem across the supplier, alternative suppliers, parent company executives, and individual owners with conflicting demands
  • Helped develop the product specification for generation two

Results

  • Resolved internal team conflicts and improved collaboration across the organization
  • Successfully navigated a highly complex stakeholder environment with competing interests
  • Delivered a product specification for G2 that met healthcare regulatory requirements
  • Secured continued pilot engagements with suppliers and locked in development agreements for generation two
  • Team repositioned to execute the G2 launch with alignment across all stakeholders
